Vi är klass 4-5-6 på Gällaryds skola.
Vi har jobbat med geocaching på våra SO-lektioner. Vi har lärt oss läsa koordinater och om Gällaryds geografi och historia.
Vi har lagt ut totalt 4 cacher, leta gärna reda på alla och logga dem på hemsidan.

Hi!
We are class 4-5-6 at Gällaryds school.
We have been working with geocaching at school. We have been learning about coordinates and about Gällaryds geography and history.
We have placed a total of 4 caches, please look for all of them and log them om the website.

Hembygdsgården
Hembygdsgårdens norra sida är från 1700-talet och södra sidan byggdes till senare. Övervåningen byggdes till i början utav 1800-talet.
Verksamma präster bodde i prästgården fram till 1919, sedan prästboställets arrendator fram till 1942. Samma år bildades hembygdsföreningen. År 1983 köptes prästgården för 15.000kr.
På prästgården finns en lada som används för en ovanlig funktion, nämligen till torkning av tobak från trakten, som sedan ingick i tillverkningen av Jönköpings grovsnus. Det finns även en tiondebod med en utkragad övervåning och ett dass.
”Hembygdsgården”
The north side of the main building is from the 18th century and the south side was added later. The upper floor was added in the beginning of the 19th century.
Until 1919 the homestead housed the priest and his family. After that it was the home to the leasholder until 1942. The same year as the ”hembygdsförening” was formed (an association that looks after old buildings in the area). In 1983 ”hembygdsgården” was purchased for the price of 15.000 kr.
On the homestead there are a couple of other buildings wich include a small barn where they used to dry out tobaco, wich was then used to make ”snus”. There is also a tithe house and an outhouse.
