Turn off
Hwy. 101 into an unmarked pullout about 9 miles north of Brookings.
Right around 1/2 mile R/T on a primitive trail. Smaller children
will need a bit of help but should be okay.
I was aimlessly wandering around my little
corner of paradise the other day and this point of land jutting out
seaward beckoned to me for the umpteenth time. There just had to be
a way down there and I finally found it though it is pretty obvious
now that I've tromped it a few times.
This is a very short hike but may be challenging for some. Head out
north on the coast trail from the parking area and leave the trail
at N 42 11.019/W124 21.692. I was going to place the cache all the
way out on the point but when I got there I realized that the view
was not as good as here. This is the money shot!
You're looking for a waterproof box behind a tree. Some interesting
swag plus 1st and 2nd finder's certificates. Oh yeah, an
unactivated geocoin is in there too. Be safe, have fun and don't
forget the camera knucklehead.
