Ten years! This little event has been held now for ten years!
In 2008, the copperchaces hosted "An extra day to geocache!" to start this tradition.
In 2009, they hosted "Is it Leap Year yet?"
The following year, they did it again with "Is it Leap Year yet once again?"
The events did very well and were enjoyed by many.
In 2011, the coppercaches were on vacation at the end of February and asked that the event be carried on in their absence. That year we held the event "Is it Leap Year yet, Where are the coppercaches?!"
The next year was Leap Year again and the coppercaches hosted one last time with "An Extra Day to geocache, too!!".
In 2013, the name of the event was changed to pay respect to the number of years it has been running and the "Sixth Annual Leap Year Event" was hosted.
After that, the event was adopted by the local geocaching group and was held in 2014 as the "Seventh Annual JAGA Leap Year Event", in 2015 as the "Eighth Annual JAGA Leap Year Event", in 2016 as the "Ninth Annual JAGA Leap Year Event", and this year is the "10th Annual JAGA Leap Year Event!"
Keeping up the traditions that the coppercaches began those ten years ago, we are hosting a meet and greet style event to get together and enjoy good caching talk and fellowship.
As with previous Leap Year events, there will be a variety of games and prizes including some 'Leap Year' classics such as the 'Jelly Bean Cache Containers' and 'Where in the World is Carmen Cacher'!
Please post how many in your group will be attending so I can get an accurate count to the restaurant management.
