Geocache Description:

A remarkable stone monument on a little-visited ridge in Østmarka

No one knows quite how it got here or what its presence means. Thus the stone monolith near the summit of Spinneren remains a mystery to this day.
There are actually two stone monuments up here. The second one sits at the summit and is a more ordinary-looking varde (pile of rock marker). Still, its sleek, tall shape is outstanding.
The cache is military food container, modified in Mostly Moose stealth style and secured with velcro.

Content as of September 2008 includes quite a few carabiners, the best of left-behind trading objects from the last four years, plus a fresh logbook to be taken into use when the current one is full.
Ther is also a stashnote, pencil, pens and an MM CITO Kits (please use bag to carry trash, then recycle its nifty container)

This cache is dedicated to Bernhard Herre (1812-1849), the first city slicker to explore these forests and write insightfully abouth his trips.

Please put the cache back exactly how and where you found it.
