Geocache Description:

The Parish of Eastham lies five miles east of Tenbury Wells in the beautiful Worcestershire countryside.

It is a sprawling parish of about 100 houses. Over a period of some years from early to middle 20th century 20 houses and a Memorial Hall (1921) where built in Eastham thus providing the parish with a nucleus. The memorial hall was constructed in honour of local lads who fought in the first World War (1914-1918). there is a plaque in the hall listing their names

In the Doomsday book  both Eastham and a "wood 2 leagues long and 1 league wide" and the Highwood, as it has become known, has its own identity within the parish. There are 40 footpaths and 12 bridleways criss-crossing the parish, approximately 24 miles in total length.

Eastham also has a parish church built in the 12th Century, within the churchyard there is the base of a Saxon preaching cross. All age services are held there on the third Sunday of each month.

Take care with geohounds and geokids as there is no footpath and the lane can be busy at times. f if you have time to linger then follow the footpaths to the top of the hill and enjoy the views. This is a good cache for children but be aware that this country lane can be busy at times so please take care with geokids and geohounds
