Geocache Description:

Got a hankerin' for a stroll along the Golden Spike Trail? Here's your fix! This initial coordinates are at a trail-head spur that connects to the middle of the Golden Spike Trail. You can use it for just a reference point to a trail-head, or go for the final. There was a fair bit of poison oak near the final location, but it is easy to spot and avoid. Close proximity to PO is unnecessary to retrieve the cache. Just remember, "Leaves of three, let it be". This trail isn't very busy, so you should have some privacy, but remember please be cognizant of being watched. Please replace the caches so they cannot be seen by muggles.

The cache itself has nothing to do with the driving of the Golden Spike commemorating the meeting of the Union Pacific and Central Pacific at Promontory Point, except for the name of this trail. But I enjoy history, so here's the iconic photo marking that occasion. Enjoy!
