The purpose of this workday is to assist with restoring biodiversity and function to our native ecosystems.

You will also be rewarded the CITO digital souvenior by attending this event.

Since Forest Preserve need a headcounts to prepare workday for us, please post "will attend" by April 12th, Friday.

All participants need to complete a District waiver form (I will have them ready to sign at the time of check in). If you are under 18, you will need to have the waiver signed by a parent or guardian and need to be accompanied with your parent or a guardian at the time of this event.

Timeline and Details:

9:25-9:30 am: Meet the site steward and turn in waivers, sign your name on logbook.

9:30-11:25 am: Workday leaders will explain task for the day (invasive species removal) and distribute equipments

11:25-11:30 am: Turn in equipment.

Proper Preparations and Dress:

Dress in layer and wear appropriate clothing for the weather. Forest Preserve recommend all participants wear sturday shoes/boots with socks, long pants, long sleeves. Flip-flops, sandals and open-toed shoes are not allowed.

Equipment:

Forest Preserve provides all necessary equipment and safety gear for the workday, but you are welcome to bring your own work gloves if you have them.

Weather and Cancellations:

This time of year can have unpredictable weather.  If severe weather is forecasted, such as storms or extremely high temperatures, the workday may be cancelled. If there is only slight drizzle, Forest Preserve try to keep the workday open, but any lightening or thunder will require us to close it for the safety of our staff and volunteers. Forest Preserve will contact me directly if this is the case, then I will update the event page as soon as I hear from them.
