Geocache Description:

(Don't feel bad if you missed the previous "annual" events. Three years ago it was just four of us that got together for breakfast before I had to head home to the Central Valley. The "2nd Annual..." was a lotta fun! The "3rd Annual...", well, I missed the deadline for publication. Never happened. My bad... But this year:

Morro Bay State Park campground
Sunday, May 28th, 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, or so

A game or two, free food, BYOB, BYOC(hair) if you wanna stick around for awhile. Parking is available on Main Street bordering the campground. More details as questions arise. There are no prerequisites for attending. You don't have to have hidden a cache or anything like that. Jus' c'mon out for some fun. If you "will attend", indicate how many in your party when you log so I can plan accordingly.
When I started geocaching a few years ago, I had already been coming over to the Central Coast for some time. (Actually, as far back as my childhood when my folks would bring us kids over for clamming.) After making a few finds, I noticed that a lot of the time the same CO geo-handle would pop up for caches that I'd found. I've always appreciated the time and effort folks would make to hide a pill bottle in the sand, an altoids tin stuck on a bridge, or maybe a peanut butter jar filled with hot wheels. All so that I could go rootin' around to find it. A couple years ago, I finally put together a "Geo-Appreciation" event.

Back story: We usually arrive at the campground, set up and leave for the day. Not usually around during the day. Just the two of us. Two years ago, we had a nice turnout for the event and everyone departed before it got real dark. The next morning, a campground neighbor stopped by and asked, "who were those friends of yours? Everyone seemed so nice. Looked like everyone was having a nice time." I wanted to answer, "I have no idea. Never met them before in my life." But I resisted and just said something like "just some friends of ours". Maybe we'll see some of you guys again...for the very first time.
