Photo Finish Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Gaiter Man: Unfortunately, the cache has been muggled and now that the hiding spot has been compromised, replacement is not an option. This one had a good run and proved to be a formidable challenge...only 10 finders in the 1,408 days since the cache was first placed. Longest period without a find was 658 days. Congratulations to those that made it to the Photo Finish line!

Geocache Description:

NOTE: THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE POSTED COORDINATES! This cache commemorates Team NoVA12's success in conquering the Blood & Guts in Virginia (aka Iron and Stone) cache. The challenge here is more mental than physical; however, it will require a bit of driving as you follow the clues through Prince William County.

The object of your quest is a small container, just large enough for the log, a couple of stubby pencils, a few tiny items and, most importantly, a laminated photo of the Team NoVA12 members, who claimed victory on January 31, 2004. Although it is my intent to replace this photo with one of better quality when a photo of the entire team is available, please do not remove the photo -- it is not a trade item. Also please do not place items in the container that would prevent fully closing.

To find the cache, you'll first have to unravel the following clues:

006.72773287.521006.727
CREPRIPRI
4120156
4596748810833

These clues will lead you to several locations where you'll have to mark the coordinates in order to calculate the whereabouts of the actual cache. Be forewarned, there is a red herring -- one of the clues will point you to a location, which is not the place where you need to mark coordinates; however, taking a look around will help you bridge the gap and give you a proper perspective.

Be advised that you may have to exercise considerable stealth retrieving and replacing the cache, depending on time of day and season. Happy Geocaching!
