The name of this cache is also it's location. Yacaaba is an imposing 220 metre high headland on the northern side of the entrance to Port Stevens.
To get to Yacaaba you will need to walk quite a distance. Firstly there is a 2 km walk along a narrow and often windy sand spit which is flanked by the fairly calm waters of Providence Bay on one side and the Pacific Ocean on the other. The dunes in between are inhabited by Dingoes so don't be surprised if you glimpse one or two scavenging along the way. Once you arrive at the base of Yacaaba there is a sign (see photo) which points the way from the ocean side of the headland. The rest is up to you.
When you have found the cache and returned to sea level maybe a swim will be just the thing to cool you down. You'll see lots of summer tourist activity here including swimming, fishing, windsurfing etc. The south side of Yacaaba is famous, its called the Dolphin Hole because Dolphins like to swim in close to the rocky shore and rub their bellies on the smooth pebbles.
The cache itself is just as you see it in the photo. It's bit of a challenge to find so rest before you begin searching in the rugged terrain.
The walking time is around 2 1/2 hours from the end of Beach Rd.
Good Luck.
