You should be able to drive up to the carpark and then walk up
to the lookout - either up the steep steps or the long gentle slope
walkways. Watch out for MT bikers.
Wonderful views from here on clear days. You can see the Karori
Sanctuary, the Brooklyn Windmill, the Hutt Valley, the Cook
straight... On foggy days (pretty common in winter)it is very weird
closed in feeling!
Cache is in a green 2litre systema container (changed from
original wee red container on 18 Sept 2006). GPS coordinates are
spot on.
For more info on Wrights Hill (eg open days, the fortifications
etc..) check out the Wrights Hill
Fortress Restoration Society. They have open days about 4 times
a year where you can go under the ground and into the tunnels.
