Cape Cod Towns - FALMOUTH Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

erycka & wichie: Sadly we inform that we have decided to archive Cape Cod Towns series. [:(]
We are glad we were able to get so many people from so many places to go all around the Cape and more trilled every time we got a log from the final one telling us how much they love it. It was a hard decision but after many reasoning we conclude we have to let go. We will leave the final active for a reasonable time for all the people who already started it and were missing few clues and also for those who didn't but want to get an easy smiley. See the attached picture and look for the clue you might be missing. Feel free to contact us if any question! Thanks for all the smiles you put on our faces visiting and enjoying this series!
Happy Caching!

Geocache Description:

A CACHING SERIES THAT COVERS ALL THE CAPE

This is one of 14 caches placed along Cape Cod – one on
each town.

Here you don’t only get a smiley but you also get one number for
the final town cache which will be released once all 14 are
published. Make sure you take note of that number and its position
because you will need it to go to the FINAL one. Although some of
the numbers may be easy to “guess”, we encourage you to do them all
before going for the 15th town to keep up the fun. They will be
posted in a random order and will be added to a Bookmark listing as
they are being published. So stay tuned, your town may be next.

Cape Cod has many different facets. Each town on the
Cape has something unique to offer in the way of natural beauty,
history, the arts and in entertainment.

A little bit of history of FALMOUTH

Falmouth was incorporated in 1694 and was named for its sister town in England. Bartholomew Gosnold, the man who named Cape Cod, sailed from Falmouth, England, in 1602 and landed upon these shores. Until incorporation, Falmouth was known by its Native American name of Succonessett which means "place where the black clam is found." Falmouth has the most shore and coastline of the Cape towns with 11 beautiful harbors. Martha's Vineyard, being only 5 miles away is in plain sight from shore. With its beautiful sea captains' homes restored as B&B's, fragrant gardens and old fashioned festivals, Falmouth is truly what is envisioned when one thinks of "Old Cape Cod."
