The trail is relatively level with a slight increase in altitude.
There is a visitor center and parking area(39 30.732N/079 17.912W) where you can access a path to Meadow Mountain Trails (39 30.808N/079 17.904W). Also, there is a trail register at the beginning of Indian Tulip Trail(39 30.883N/079 17.941W). The trail has a sign-in at the beginning that is interesting to check for comments from previous hikers, ie., "We saw a doe and fawn along the trail that were curious about us walking in their area". Hiking shoes are a plus for some of the rockier sections of the trail. The cache is a clear plastic rectangular container, with log book, pen and assorted exchange items. The cache is near the trail so you won't need to disturb the flora. If you continue along the trail to the ridge there is an interesting old logging road? made of squared timbers that extends quite a ways. Beyond that are a communication and fire tower. If you continue past the tower you can make a loop back to your beginning point. You can also come down a trail directly beneath the tower that will return you to the starting point.
