AGOGWE is a supposedly small human-like biped (walking on 2 feet) from the forests of East Africa. It is said to be 3 to 4 feet tall with longish arms and long rust-colored woolly hair. It has yellowish-red skin under its coat. Agogwe has been also reported as having black or grey hair. Its feet are about 5 inches long with opposable toes (like thumbs). Differences between it and apes are a rounded forehead, small canine teeth, and the hair and skin color. This is the description of Captain Wm. Lichens in 1900. It is hardly ever seen. Could this be a young Sasquatch?
*** Please leave the stamper and ink pad in all letterbox caches in their baggie. They are NOT SWAG!
SWAG may be taken if you trade like-for-like value. Replace lids securely and return the container to its hiding spot so others can have the fun of the hunt. THANK YOU!
About CREW:
The CREW Land and Water Trust is a private, non-profit conservation organization dedicated to the preservation and stewardship of the water resources and natural communities in and around the Corkscrew Regional Ecosystem Watershed (CREW). This 60,000-acre watershed in partnership with the South Florida Water Management District (which owns and manages the land) and the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission (which monitors wildlife, hunting, and provides law enforcement on CREW). CREW is the largest intact watershed in southwest Florida, straddling Lee and Collier Counties. CREW’s majestic 5,000-acre sawgrass marsh is the headwaters for the entire watershed – which includes the National Audubon Society’s famous Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary – located south of the marsh.
Permission for planting this cache at the Crew Dome was granted by Jessi Drummond, CREW director of education.
