Greetings,

It has been a while since I first looked at this cache. I can't find any recent responses about maintaining this cache so for the time being it will be archived and removed from the active cache listings. We are no longer leaving caches stay disabled for extended periods of time.

Groundspeak and the geocaching community appreciate your contributions to geocaching and I hope to see this cache back in operation soon.

If you can get it back up and running in the next week or so contact me to get it re-listed. Otherwise plan to move it slightly and set up a new cache page.

[green]Most problems can be solved with good communication so reply back to the reviewer and we will do everything possible within the guidelines to get your cache published. It is best to give me as much information as possible instead of saying nothing at all. This will speed up the process and we can get your cache published. [/green]

Dusty Cache #2 - The Short Walk
This is the second cache I have hidden.

This cache placement has been approved by Jackson County Parks and Recreation.

Not Handicap accessible   Less than 500 feet from car   Steep slope   Wear long pants   Off-trail required   No drinking water available   No restrooms

This cache is either a short walk from one parking area, or a difficult, longer, buggy walk from the other parking area.

Please stay to the West of the road. The East side is posted as forbidden land around the archery range.

The ground is sloping; footing is loose rock, leaves, and debris from the ice storm. The is one strand of broken, rusty, barbed wire attached to a tree and hanging loose. I tried to put it out of the way, but be careful. It is not near the cache, it is North of it. Older children (10 or so) should love this place. Lots of rocks to investigate. You can watch the boats passing by on the lake. One more cove to the SouthWest is where they moor the sailboats when they aren't being used.

There are ticks about - during my scouting mission, I did not use bug spray. I returned covered with ticks. Today, I used permethrin on my clothes and DEET on my skin. I only had 3 ticks on my clothes, and one on my hand.

The cache is a large ammo box. There is nothing covering it up. It is hidden by its paint job, and the surrounding terrain. Please place it back, with the geocache label away from passersby.

The items to be left in the cache are: a First Aid kit with wipes and band-aids, and a logbook to sign, and a pen and pencil, all in a ziplock bag.

The initial trade contents are some DustyJacket buttons, a few silver coins (dollars and halves), a yo-yo, a figurine, an Etch-a-sketch pen, and a few other things.
