Geocache Description:

I was so suprised that there was not a cache in Drummore, the most Southernly village in Scotand I had to put one here at the WELCOME TO DRUMMORE SIGN.

A friendly Welcome

The "Welcome to Drummore" used to have two dollies / straw men welcoming you to the village.

Every year throughout the village there is a competition for the best strawman usually about MAY for the summer. You will spot them dotted around the village.

In the gallery there is a number of prime examples - if you can take better pictures or come across more please share, I will thoroughly enjoy seeing them and will add them to the gallery.

The pictures in the gallery include

  • two at the welcome sign near rhe cache
  • the farmer and plough
  • a mermaid
  • buz light year
  • a flowerpot man
  • a clown
  • a grandpa sharing the bench with granddaughter
  • someone stuck up a tree
  • a chimney sweep
  • an animal rescue nan saving a cat
  • Shaun the sheep on a bike

The cache is at the the foot of the sea break and NOT near the sign or on mowed grass. PLEASE ensure the cache is held down by the rocks as the sea does comes over in storms during the winter.

Drummore is a special place as this is where my father lives and i spent many a happy summer exploring the area and playing on the beaches.
