"Die Marktgemeinde St. Veit liegt auf rund 700 Höhenmetern und besteht aus den Ortsteilen St. Veit und Grafenhof. Durch die Lage auf einem Plateau im Salzachtal zählt die rund 3.500 Einwohner starke Gemeinde zu den besonders sonnenreichen Orten. Zudem befindet sich St. Veit etwa an jener Stelle im Salzachtal, an der die von Westen kommende Salzach ihren Lauf nach Norden ändert.
Bereits in der Bronzezeit entstand die erste Siedlung auf dem Klinglberg, wo Kupfererz abgebaut wird. In der jüngeren Eisenzeit besiedeln die Kelten St. Veit. Zwischen 800 und 1100 entstand auf der sonnig gelegenen Bergterrasse eine Kirchensiedlung. In einer Schenkungsurkunde des Salzburger Erzbischofs Gebhard aus dem Jahre 1074 werden Ort und Pfarre erstmals schriftlich erwähnt. Im Spätmittelalter wurde St. Veit zur regelmäßigen Marktanlage. 1425 wurde das Marktrecht schriftlich festgelegt.
Wie viele andere Pongauer Gemeinden betraf die Protestantenvertreibung 1732 auch St. Veit. Erst 1951 wurde der ursprüngliche Name „St. Veit“ zu „St. Veit im Pongau“ erweitert und Ende der 1980er-Jahre wurde die Gemeinde zum ersten „Heilklimatischen Kurort“ des Landes Salzburg."

Ein Tradi, den man in einer der bekannten "Oasen der Ruhe" findet. "In der Ruhe liegt die Kraft" trifft auf diesen Ort im Besonderen zu. Die Aussicht und die Natürlichkeit ist hier von besonderem Reiz. Auf dem höchsten Punkt des Hügels findet man gemütliche Bankerln, die nicht nur für uns, Orte der Entspannung und der inneren Einkehr sind. Die Aussicht von hier über das Salzachtal und auf St. Johann im Pongau ist atemberaubend. Dass man sich oberhalb einer befestigten bronzezeitlichen Ansiedlung (zwischen 1800 v. Chr. bis 1495 v.Chr.; vermutlich 10 Häuser und 60 Männer, Frauen und Kinder) am Klinglberg befindet, an dem damals Kupfer verarbeitet wurde, verleiht diesem "Kraftort" einen ganz besonderen Stellenwert.
Cache:
Dieser Cache ist der dritte unserer "Kraftorte-Runde" (KOR) im Raum St. Veit im Pongau und dürfte recht einfach zu finden sein. Er ist auf alle Fälle sehr familienfreundlich gestaltet, aber nicht nur Kinder dürften ihre Freude beim Suchen und Finden haben.

Noch ein paar Empfehlungen:
- Da die "Schöne Aussicht" ein beliebtes Ausflugsziel ist, muss immer wieder mit dem Auftauchen von Muggels gerechnet werden. Beurteilt bitte selber, ob ein gefahrloses Heben möglich ist!
- Bitte benutzt den angegeben oder einen anderen, der im Ortsgebiet verfügbaren offiziellen Parkplätze.
- Im Winter sollte der Cache findbar sein. Das werden wir im kommenden Winter prüfen und das Listing, falls notwenig, aktualisieren.
- Achtung: Keine Parkmöglichkeit direkt beim Cache!
- Bitte hinterlasst den Cache so, wie ihr ihn vorgefunden habt bzw. wie es die Intention war! Bitte wieder fixieren, damit er bei Sturm und Unwetter an Ort und Stelle bleibt.
- Kleinere Kinder brauchen eventuell ein wenig Hilfe beim Bergen.

"The market town of St. Veit is located at about 700 meters above sea level and consists of the local centers St. Veit and Grafenhof. Due to its location on a plateau in the Salzach Valley, the municipality (population approx. 3500) is one of the sunniest places in the province of Salzburg.
Already in the Bronze Age, the first settlement on the Klinglberg was formed, where copper ore was mined. In the younger Iron Age the Celts colonized St. Veit. Between 800 AD and 1100 AD, a church settlement was built on the sunny mountain terrace. In a deed of donation of the Salzburg archbishop Gebhard from the year 1074 AD, the locality and the parish were first mentioned in writing. In the late Middle Ages St. Veit became a regular market place. In 1425, the market rights were set in writing.
Like many other Pongau communities, the Protestant expulsion in 1732 also affected St. Veit. As recently as in 1951 the original name "St. Veit" was extended to"St. Veit im Pongau" and at the end of the 1980s, the municipality became the first" climatic health resort "in the province of Salzburg."

A traditional cache, which can be found in one of the well-known "oases of rest". "In tranquillity lies the key to strength" applies to this place in particular. The view and the naturalness is of particular charm up here. On the highest point of the hill you will find cozy park benches. This spot is a place of relaxation and inner retreat, not only for us. The view from here overlooking the Salzach Valley and St. Johann im Pongau is breathtaking. The fact that a fortified Bronze Age settlement (between 1800 BC and 1495 BC, presumably 10 houses and 60 men, women and children) is located on the Klinglberg right below you, where copper was processed at the time, gives this "power place" one very special status.
Cache:
The name of the cache means in translation: ‘Beautiful Views/Prospects’ (play of words in German language as there are different meanings for the word 'Aussichten').
This cache is the third of our "Places of Power Tour" (= KOR) in the St. Veit im Pongau area and should be pretty easy to find. It is family friendly designed but not only children will have their joy while searching and finding.

A few more recommendations:
- Since the "Schöne Aussicht" is a popular destination especially for the local people, expect the appearance of muggles from time to time. Please consider if a safe raising of the cache is possible!
- Please use the specified or any other official parking available in the municipal area.
- In winter, the cache should be findable. We will check this next winter and update the listing if necessary.
- Be advised: no parking directly at the cache coordinates!
- Please leave the cache as you have found it or as it was the intention! After raising, please fix it again thoroughly, so that it stays in place during storms and thunderstorms.
- Smaller children may need a bit of help when raising the cache.
