This series commemorates my 50+ years of snowmobiling and the 20 snowmobiles my family and I had fun on during that time. In 1967, our family started snowmobiling in Syracuse, New York. Back then we would ride on Oneida Lake, or any field we could get permission to ride on. A special thanks to Mark & Glenn for helping me with this series.
These sleds were our 12th & 13th sleds. We purchased a pair of matching Safari 377s new, after we sold the Scorpion Whip and Indy 400. These sleds were on sale at the time. My Mom still thought they were a little heavy, but thought she give them a try. The Safari 377 had a 368cc Rotax engine with twin carbs that produced about 40 horsepower. I always thought that “Safari” was an odd name for a snowmobile. These were good running, reliable machines during the two seasons we had them, but I was starting to get bored. After riding the Indy 400, I was craving more power!
Congratulations to Bandit35757 on the FTF!
