Shiroyama observatory is located on top of the hill at an altitude of 107m.
It commands a view of downtown Kagoshima,Sakurajima volcano and Kinko Bay.
If you go during the day of a sunny day , it recommends the afternoon than in the morning ..
Since Shiroyama observatory direction to look is the eastward , .
is better in the afternoon than in the morning to become the backlight , " Sakurajima " is clearly visible .
Dusk even enjoy the majestic Sakurajima silhouette ,
such as Tenmonkan and the harbor of a state of downtown at night ,
A great panoramic night view of Kagoshima ,
which is praised as " Oriental Naples " will spread in front .

Promenade entrance leading to Shiroyama observatory is located in two places.
About two kilometers of the course (time required about 20 minutes) will be able to climb.
Access: Get off at the Shiroyama stop of Kagoshima City View Bus"Shiroyama and Iso Course"
or same bus stop of Machimeguri-Bus.
城山は鹿児島市街中心部に位置する標高107mの小高い山で、
展望台からは鹿児島市街地をはじめ、雄大な桜島や鹿児島湾（錦江湾）を一望できます。
晴れた日の昼間に行く場合は、逆光になる午前中よりも午後のほうが「桜島」がはっきりと見えます。
夕暮れ時は雄大な桜島のシルエットも楽しめ、夜になると「東洋のナポリ」と称えられる
鹿児島市の見事なパノラマ夜景が眼前に広がります。
展望台に至る遊歩道入り口は2ケ所あり、約2キロメートルのコース（所用時間約30分）となっています。
