Geocache Description:

A simple mystery cache that is not for “Lager Boys”!!

What could be more joyful than an off licence that sells real ale just a few doors down from a chippy!! And if you want to work off the calories and have the sponduliks there’s a 5-star Health Club just over the road. But of course it’s far cheaper to lose weight by going out geocaching! Locals will probably know where this spot is from the above description but will still have to work out the answers to get the exact co-ordinates, which are hardly any distance from the 5 star off-licence. To find the answers to the six ‘Great Brewery’ questions, you should go to their own websites rather than Wikipedia. A) Coniston Bluebird Bitter was the “Supreme Champion Beer of Britain in the year klmn. A = n – k B) Shepherd Neame's Spitfire was first produced in 1 9 B 0 (& they've done some great non-politically correct adverts since that date!) C) Richard Arkell began brewing at the old water mill at Donnington in 1865 but what year was the building built? This is pqrs. C = 2 x (r - p - q - 2s) D) I think Thornbridge Hall brews the best IPA in the country – it’s called Jaipur and has an abv of g.h % D = this % rounded up or down to the nearest whole number. E) A 4.2% zesty Pale Ale is produced by local brewer Purity at Upper Spernall Farm in Great Alne. E = the number of letters in the two word name. F) Hook Norton says it is the only brewery still driven by steam and it has a fine xy horsepower steam engine on the ground floor. F = y + x The cache is at North 52 23.ABC West 001 48.DEF and the checksum of the 6 missing digits is 45 The cache is now a cameo'd 35mm pot & you will need to bring your own pen to write on the log. It's on the pavement of a busy road so stealth will be necessary at most times of the day and night. After finding the cache you might like to pop into the Off Licence (which features regularly in the CAMRA Beer Guide) and sample their wares. They allow you to taste before you buy and will provide receptacles for you to take your beer home. Just tell them Ian Edwards' Dad told you to call in! ~~~ Roll of Honour ~~~ FTF - AJIGeo STF - Stag Ramblers TTF - The Webbies Congratulations!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
