OK ... I don't want to have to drive for half a day just to attend a CITO event, and there wasn't one organised in Canberra ... so now there is :)
This is actually my first cache "hide" ... so apologies if it is not that well organised or if I miss anything ...
I thought it might be a nice idea to meet at a nice picnic spot, and share a bit of afternoon tea (or those who want to can even have a BBQ - there is an electric BBQ and some picnic shelters here). GZ is actually somewhere near the BBQ - but I will have the log book/etc at one of the picnic shelters providing there is one free (should be at that time of day) ... there is also a kids playgroud, and some parking spaces around the place, shouldn't be too hard to find parking or GZ
The CITO part of things can be picking up some litter around the area - either during the event time or you can clean up on the way to of from the event if you have another area you would like to clean up. I am not sure how much rubbish is in this area, but no matter where you go these days there is always some - there are lots of paths to walk along and lots of shoreline and grassed areas that could probably do with an "emu bob" ... and there is plenty of rubbish IN the lake if you want to get wet/have a kayak/etc).
So ... bring some food to share, and your own gloves/litter collecting equipment if you have it (I can bring a few pairs of gloves and some plastic shopping bags for those who need them) ... there is a tap there for hand washing (I will try and remember the soap ;)
I can take some rubbish home with me (whatever fits in the back of my car) but if too many people turn up it might be handy if some people can take theirs with them and dispose of it themselves.
oh - and if the weather is horrible - I will still be there (that is why they invented rain coats :)
