Geocache Description:


Some get their kicks on Route 66 others thrive while taking a drive on Old 395.
Until the early 1970’s 395 was the route from Escondido to San Diego. It was a slow road that crossed Lake Hodges and meandered its way through Poway and eventually into San Diego. When we were kids this seemed to take forever.
With the coming off I-15 395 seemed to disappear. It became Centre City Parkway, Pomerado Road , Champagne Blvd. and many other roads. But if you look closely you can still find vestiges of Old 395.
We are going to take you on a nice drive from Escondido to Rainbow. You will be searching for signs of Old 395.
The entire route is a bike path. Please make sure you don’t park in the bike lane.
There is parking near each cache location.
The caches can be found in any order.

Taking a Drive on Old 395 #4 is a small cache suitable for small swag.
Look at the homes on top of the hill...sweet..
