Geocache Description:

This is part of the more challenging cache finds i've put out.-So these follow the Greek alphabet. Don't worry there will be no treasure beginning with Beta in each, now that really would be a challenge!

It is a micro and only has room for a log book, please bring own pencil / pen

The cache is hidden near the church in Llanbadarn Fawr church, but not on the site, however the clues are all on the site, you will have to enter the church but all the info in just in through the doors, so you can get the information easily without having to disturb anyone to much. Also the church is open 24/7.

The church has stood in part for 700 years, personally I'm an atheist but I am always staggered by the design and architecture of churches.

It will be the immensity of the church tower which first strikes you as you near the village; its size testifies to the importance of this ancient site. In 1257 it was rebuilt after a fire, but the previous structure dates back to the 11c and to the Bishop of Llanbadarn goes back to the 6th Century. If you enter the church you will notice the stone arch which surrounds the south door and which may have been ispired by Strata Florida, the oldest Capital of Wales. The church is cruciform in form and has wooden ceilings dating back to the 19th century. The east window depicts the myth of the transfiguration of Jesus. On your way along the nave you will notice a stained glass window commissioned by Professor Parrott as a thanksgiving for his life and work. The church also has some artefacts from the pre-christian era where there are still hints of Paganism- the oldest religion of Britain, are still thankfully evident.

The coordinates are as follows:-

N52 A(B-K).(C-K)D(E-2K)

On the map inside the door against the south west wall it reads on a map:- Ca 1A00, 1A2B to 1ACF....Uncertain Probably KDth cent.

The number of fleur de lees on the east lych gate is E

Inside the church there is a plaque to the memory of an old vicar, W.E. Davies his run in the world was 1907 to 19HG

A tomb on the path has a child buried along side, rare for the time, but fitting, E.D. Richards lives to J weeks old.

Above the main entrance of the church there is a series of Club shaped windows, there are I many.

All of the clues are viewable from the path, and stepping about 10 steps into the front door. You might benefit from being around 6 foot for retrieval, either that or a stick would help :D. Good luck!

If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication
