Geocache Description:

THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE POSTED CO-ORDINATES! These are the co-ordinates for the Cartier Square Drill Hall, Regimental Headquarters of the Governor General's Foot Guards (G.G.F.G.).

The Regiment was formed by LCol. Thomas Ross on June the 7th, 1872 from the two companies of the Civil Service Rifles to provide household troops to His Excellency the Governor General

To find the cache you must discover some facts about the Guards.




The cache is at N45 26.ABC, W075 41.DEF

A = The day in September 1916 for which Cpl. Leo Clarke was awarded the Victoria Cross = A

B = How many Guards were killed at the Battle of Cut Knife Hill = B

C = Add together the two digits of the G.G.F.G.'s numerical prefix used in World War II = C

D = The number of Victoria Crosses awarded to the Guards in World War I = D

E = Add together the two digits of the number of Battle Honours carried on the Regimental Colours = E

F = The last digit of the day in October 1916 on which Cpl. Leo Clarke was killed in action = F
