Geocache Description:

Lodge Hill forms part of a circular walk around the Southern Shifnal area. Popular route for dog walkers, but not too busy.

Recommended parking at N52 39.699 W2 22.927 and walk south, or alternative parking along Park Lane, around N52 39.420 W2 22.273. The full circular walk is approx 3 miles and we plan to add a couple more caches around the route. Terrain has some fairly steep sections, including steps and can get very muddy in wet weather, The footbridge part way around can become submerged following very heavy rain.

Around 10 years ago the area at the base of the steps was used as an Ostrich farm. The shelters are still visible. In the same area buildings that may well be from the paper making industry, in full swing at the end of the 18th Century, can be seen. The area following the route of the present day brook was industrialised at that time.

This is our 1st cache. Its a 450cc container, stocked by the two Geokids. We hope you enjoy it.
