Playing at Praa Sands Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Lindinis: I've archived this cache after recieving a complaint (via Groundspeak) from the land owner. Cachers have evidently been walking across his land and turning over granite rocks.

If the cache is still there could someone please remove it to avoid leaving 'geolitter'.

Geocache Description:

A short walk to the fantastic Praa Sands bay.

Praa Sands is a relatively out of the way Cornish village with a great beach, rock pools and cliff top walks. The beach is very popular with surfers. Recommend a visit to the Sandbar pub overlooking the beach at sunset and watch the surfers as they make use of the last few minutes of daylight !

The beach is recognized as a Regionally Important Geological/Geomorphical site due to a 1,300 year old peat bed made up from the decaying forest that once covered this area.

Of historical interest is Pengersick Castle.

A webcam is available

We understand that the correct pronunciation is "Pray Sands" rather than "Praa Sands".

The cache itself is a small container - just large enough for a small log book, small pencil and a couple of swaps. Included is a FTF badge :-)

Note that you don't need to climb over anything to find it.
