Professor Xavier: As the owner has had a year to maintain the listing but hasn't done so, I am archiving this cache. Please note that as this cache has now been archived by a reviewer or HQ staff it will NOT be unarchived.

Geocache Description:

The Vogrie Cachers welcome you to Vogrie. As well as the parkland there are also two playparks, one near the car parking and another further down. The trees along here all have a tale to tell, and have been here for many years.

This cache has been hidden for the Vogrie VIII event being held on 7th October 2018. Come and enjoy the beautiful autumn colours in the stunning grounds of the historic Vogrie Country Park. There are 11.5 miles of signed footpaths passing through sweeping parkland, woodlands and the River Tyne Valley. There are many fine trees that tend to confuse your GPS, we have tried our hardest to get accurate coordinates but please be warned! Please return the cache exactly as you found it. Enjoy.

THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE STATED COORDINATES BUT THEY GIVE YOU A GOOD STARTING POINT...

We knew there were people keen on cache type collection planning a visit for Vogrie VIII so we hope you allow us this hybrid of some of our previous offerings.  We're very fond of the places they took you and we're always being told to recycle these days!!! Enjoy....

We are still relatively new to writing wherigos, our testers have got it to work on both Android and IPhone smartphones.  If you have any bother with it please get in touch via the links on this page.
Make sure you have a wherigo app on your smartphone.  The cartridge can be downloaded here

If you are new to wherigos we have a few top tips:

1. Check the app switches on location.  For some apps we have had to switch this on separately from having location enabled on the phone.

2. As you near the zone you are aiming for slow down, this seems to help the cartridge recognise that you have entered the zone.

3. If using the navigation just watch for the distance ticking down rather than blindly following the direction of the arrow.  The direction can be a little slow to respond.

4. If you have any bother it is worth saving your progress, exiting the app and restarting to resume.

Thank you again to our valiant testers - we hope it was less taxing than the last time we asked for wherigo tester help!! It is very much appreciated.

The cartridge was built using the earwigo web based builder - many thanks to the owners for giving me access.

Many thanks to head ranger Jo Cooke and the Midlothian County Rangers for giving us permission to hide the caches.
