Welcome to Leelanau State Park, located at the tip of the little finger on the beautiful Leelanau Peninsula, where more than 1,500 acres are waiting for visitors to enjoy. The word "Leelanau" is the Native American word for "A Land of Delight" and could not better describe the area. The park is home to the Grand Traverse Lighthouse Museum, a rustic campground, two mini cabins, 8.5 miles of hiking and skiing trails and a picnic area. Petoskey stones can be found along the shoreline.
This cache is located just off one of the many trails located in Sleepy Hollow State Park. Most of the trails are hard packed making a bike a great way to get to the caches in the area. Keep in mind during hunting season to be aware of hunters in the area. Hunting is allowed from September 15 until April 1st each year.
*** Be sure to carry bug spray, the mosquitos are numerous this year.
