This geocache is our first hidden on our private property. Feel free to drive onto the driveway. Geocache is a small camo'd plastic container with small items but large enough for a travel bug.
Located past the Ante Hunt Club if you are traveling from the city of Emporia. You'll also pass the home of a NASCAR driver if coming from the city of Emporia. . . guess who?
Come during daylight hours. FTF is rewarded with a scratch off lottery ticket. Happy hunting!!!
The name, Dry Bread Road, is borrowed from the name of a road that runs from Emporia, Va., through western Greensville county, Va. to central Brunswick county, Va., approximately 25 miles, where it becomes Broadnax road. According to legend, Dry Bread Road got its name at the
end of the Revolutionary War when British troops were moving through the county and , as was common practice for both sides , the troops would confiscate rations from the locals. Having heard that the British troops were coming, the folks along the route hid everything and feigned that they only had dry bread. Troops came to refer to the route as the Dry Bread
Road, because that was pretty much all they were able to take from the
residents.
