The cache is beside Sustrans Cycle Route 7 on the edge of Boat of Garten, within Deshar Woods. You can park in the village, or at the end of Kinchurdy Road itself and then follow the track. The cycle path itself is accessible by wheelchair and stroller, but the cache is not at ground level.
This cache is part of the BoG series, combining our appreciation of the area with some of our favourite songs and bands. “BoG – Crossroads" pays homage to Cream and Eric Clapton.
We come to here often, and we all enjoy the outdoor activities on offer. We especially like cycling along this route, and you can follow this track all the way to Aviemore and beyond, to Loch Morlich and if you're feeling energetic, up to the Ski Centre at Cairngorm.
The area that this cache is placed contains some protected wildlife, and there is an SSSI (site of special scientific interest) nearby. I thank Will Anderson, Forestry Director with Seafield Estates, for giving his kind permission to place this cache series, and they have been placed to avoid sensitive areas. Please take heed of any signs you come across and be respectful of wildlife.
Deshar Woods is quite extensive and very pleasant to walk through, and you may walk further into the woods. During late 2012, some forestry work will take place, so please avoid these areas.
The cache is not suitable for swag and only contains a log, please bring your own pencil.
