TAMPA'S FIRST PHOON CAM
CACHE!
VERY
IMPORTANT: THIS CACHE IS NOT NIGHT FRIENDLY!
THE CAMERA CAN'T SEE WELL WHEN IT'S DARK
OUTSIDE!
------------------------------------------------------------
Sample of a Phoon. You MUST duplicate this pose
------------------------------------------------------------
Description:
TECOcam live from downtown Tampa,
Florida. Find it, get your Phoon captured and upload with your
"find" log entry to get credit!
The difficulty level on this cache
is primarly because it takes TWO people to complete this cache, one
at the cache site, and the second person needs to be at a computer
with web access at the same time to capture your image.
There are special rules for this
webcam geocache because you can't just take a snapshot of a passing
pedestrian, and say that it is you. You MUST be Phooning in the
picture or no Smiley.
"How to":
1) Profile to the camera, ie facing north or south.
2) Bend from the waist.
3) Bend your elbows, draw one arm back, one arm forward.
4) Slightly bend knees.
5) Pull one leg back and up & tell camera operator
NOW!!!
If the image captured is you
falling over, just try again. Keeping your eyes fixed on a
stationary object will help you balance.
When you log the find, upload the
webcam image at that time. Logs without pictures will be deleted.
You must be clearly Phooning for the image to count, and the Phoon
must be done correctly. If you are physically unable to Phoon,
recruit a Phooning friend for the cache!. If you do NOT Phoon, you WILL NOT receive credit for
you find.
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING VERY CAREFULLY!
INSTRUCTIONS:
1.) Find the cache site! (The coords should bring you to a steel
grate over a storm drain. That will give you a firm Phooning
base.)
2.) Call your "driver" on your cellphone, and let them know that
you are there.
3.) Your partner must go to www.tecocam.com and locate you at
this exact spot.
------------------------------------------------------------
Step-By-Step detailed directions to find you on camera, and make
this MUCH easier. Following these directions should simplify the
process:
a.) Click on the pre-set "UT". You will need to have your
driver move the camera to the right and down until you are in the
shot. Zoom in as much as possible. (Be patient, and let each frame
load)
b.) My experience showed the camera to be a bit stubborn at times.
Remember you only have control for 90 seconds at a time.
c.) Get your friend centered in the camera's view, zoom in SLOWLY
adjust camera in tiny bits... d.) Using the "ZOOM" you must zoom
all the way in (top of verticle slide bar with SINGLE TREE.
e.) Click the camera icon to capture the image.
(Note: It is VERY IMPORTANT to let each frame load before moving
on to the next step. If you make a mistake you will have to start
over!)
------------------------------------------------------------
4.) Your "driver" must then capture an image of you PHOONING by
using the "CTRL + PRINT SCREEN" button on their keyboard (or a
similar method).
5.) Once the image is captured, your "driver" will need to open
some type of graphic editing software. Then do the following:
------------------------------------------------------------
Go to FILE and select "NEW"
Go to EDIT and select "PASTE"
In setting up this page, we used the CTRL+Print Screen key
combination to capture the image. We then pasted that image into
our favorite image editing software and 'Save As' to a .JPG file
extension. You're process may differ slightly.
Do yourself a favor..... Don't leave the
area until you have confirmed with your "driver" that you have a
good image capture AND save.

in setting up this Phoon Cam.
