Geocache Description:

Rockshaw Road, Merstham

This is one of 50 caches which form a circular walk around Alderstead and other settlements surrounding the village of Merstham.

Rockshaw Road, on the hilltop above the conservation area of Old Merstham, was developed at the very end of the 19th century, and between the World Wars was home to many nationally notable people, among them senior Army and Navy figures, financiers and politicians.

MM’s Alderstead Amble is a circular walk of about 11 miles, along which there are a number of traditional caches varying in size from micro to regular (no pencils). You will pass a variety of other caches on the way from simple traditional to puzzles to 5x5 extreme caches.

Parking is available in Rockshaw Road, Merstham or at a number of other locations on the route. We recommend you walk clockwise (to avoid a steep uphill between #30 and #31), but your choice.

Attributes shown are for the whole series. Please note parts of the walk will be muddy after heavy rainfall.

Happy Caching!
