Spectacular cliffside location. Easy to find after a 30 minute hike. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery!
The cache is located at the end of the beautiful Sheep's Head peninsula in West Cork. Drive through Durrus, Ahakista and Kilcrohane to the small carpark at the end of the peninsula. There is a small café at the carpark - have a coffee at one of the outdoor tables and enjoy a beautiful view! From here you have a 30 minute trail hike. Good footware recommended. At the very end of the peninsula are spectacular unguarded cliffs. Be careful, there's a 250 ft drop! From here, move west, cross the wooden footbridge, pass a makeshift helicopter pad, to get the lighthouse. Decrypt the clue below if you want to get straight to the cache. Finally, this is a popular walking area -watch out for muggles. NOTE: Dogs are not allowed, even on a lead!! Cache replaced in June 2021.
