Dieser Multi führt Euch einmal um den Heiligenberg herum und ist fast ein Rundweg. Das Final ist weniger als 400 m Luftlinie von Eurem Startpunkt weg. Alles in allem ist der Weg knapp 8 km lang und ihr werdet ca. 7 Brunnen auf der Tour besuchen. Euch erwarten auch einige Höhenmeter, da die Tour über den Gipfel des Heiligenberges führt. Gutes Schuhwerk ist zu empfehlen und vielleicht auch ein bisschen Proviant, da ihr eine ganze Weile unterwegs sein werdet (ca. 2-3 Stunden zu Fuß). Für Kinderwagen ist die Tour ungeeignet. Zu den unterschiedlichen Stationen gibt es Fragen, die ihr beantworten müsst, um die Koordinaten des Finals zu berechnen. Eine Station ist optional. Hier könnt Ihr Informationen sammeln, um Eure Antworten an den anderen Stationen zu überprüfen. Die Informationen der optionalen Station werden nicht zum Finden des Finals benötigt.

Die Tour beginnt am Fuße des Heiligenberges am Schneebergbrunnen. Hier könnt Ihr in der Nähe parken. Der Brunnen bietet auch Gelegenheit Eure Wasservorräte aufzufüllen (vielleicht die letzte Gelegenheit für die nächsten paar Kilometer).

Hier befindet Ihr Euch in historischer Umgebung. 400 v. Christus hatten die Kelten eine befestigte Siedlung am Heiligenberg. Der Brunnen befand sich innerhalb des äußeren Ringwalls.

Ihr steht vor einem Wasserspeicher, der noch in Betrieb ist. In Wasserspeichern wird das Wasser aus den verschiedenen Quellen gesammelt und der Wasserversorgung zugeführt.
Der Wasserspeicher ist für Euch nicht zugänglich. Ein Tor versperrt Euch den Weg.

Ihr seid oben angekommen. Alle weiteren Stationen liegen weiter unten. Verschnauft ein bisschen. Auch im Mittelalter war die Wasserversorgung Grundvoraussetzung, um hier im Kloster zu siedeln. Für die Wasserversorgung gab es eine Außenzisterne, vor der ihr jetzt steht. Hier konnte Wasser gesammelt werden und dann nach Bedarf verbraucht werden. Damit Ihr nicht reinfallt, ist die Zisterne mit einem Zaun umgeben.

Keine Ahnung wie der Brunnen wirklich heißt. Aber ich finde Thing-Brunnen ist ein schöner Name. Wenn Ihr den richtigen Namen wisst, schreibt das bitte in Eure Logs. Die meisten Male, die ich den Brunnen besucht habe, hat er nur müde getröpfelt. Scheinbar ist seine Hauptfunktion nett auszusehen.
Am Brunnen findet Ihr eine metallene, runde Marke in die ein Schriftzug geprägt ist. Wie viele Buchstaben hat das eingravierte Wort? H=

Diese Station ist optional (Umweg insgesamt knapp 800 m, 10-15 min). Hier findet ihr Informationen, mit denen ihr einige Eurer Antworten später überprüfen könnt. Wenn Ihr alles richtig macht, ist der Cache aber auch ohne diese Station zu finden.
Das Heidenloch ist immer einen Besuch wert. Bei einer Brunnenbefahrung hat man am Grunde des Heidenloches eine Ziegellage gefunden, die einen Ursprung in römischer Zeit vermuten lässt. Mehr Informationen könnt Ihr den Schautafeln im Brunnenhäuschen entnehmen.

Station 7 Zollstockbrunnen N 49° 25.(H*72+26) E 8° 42.929 384 m NN
Hier habt Ihr einen schönen Rastplatz mit wunderbarer Aussicht auf das Schloss. Der Brunnen ist neben der Schlossblick Hütte. Hier bietet sich Gelegenheit für einen kleinen Tradi (Tolle Aussicht - Schlossblick Hütte GC1CGAQ).
Aber natürlich solltet ihr Euer Hauptaugenmerk auf den Brunnen lenken. Der Zollstockbrunnen geht, wie der Bittersbrunnen auch, auf keltische Zeit zurück und hat wesentlich zur Versorgung der Keltenstadt beigetragen. Beide Brunnen schütten heute kaum noch und müssen zu Keltenzeiten mehr Wasser geführt haben. Man nimmt an, dass diese Veränderung auf ein durchlässig werden der Tonschichten durch sauren Regen zurückzuführen ist.

Hier gibt es eine Hütte mit schönem Ausblick in Richtung Rheinebene und in der Nähe einen Steinbruch. Leider ist kein Brunnen da. Schaut Euch ein bisschen in der Hütte um.

Dies ist eine schöne Quelle, die leider sehr saures Wasser schüttet. Messungen 2002-2003 ergaben einen Durchschnitts pH-Wert von 4,3, was für Bergmolche ziemlich tödlich ist.

Hier mündet das Wasser aus der Einsiedlerquelle in den Mühlbach. Unmittelbar neben dem gefassten Bach ist ein alter Wegstein.

This multi leads you up and around the Heiligenberg. It is almost a round trip. Start and final are less than 400 m apart. Altogether the trip is almost 8 km during which you will visit 7 wells. You can also expect some meters in height, because the way is also leading you to the summit of the Heiligenberg. You will need good shoes and probably some provisions, because it might take you some time to complete the tour (2-3 hours by foot). The tour is not suited for a pram. At the different stages you have to answer questions in order to get the information that you need to calculate the final coordinates. One of the stages is optional. At this stage you can collect information that can be used to validate the other answers. However, the information at the optional stage is not required for finding the cache.

You have entered historical grounds. 400 BC the Celts had a fortified settlement at the Heiligenberg. The well was inside the outer circular rampart and was one of two wells that supplied water to the settlement.

You arrived at the summit of your tour. All other stages are further down. Take a breath and relax. In the Middle Ages water was a prerequisite for the monks to settle here. For their water supply they had an outer cistern. You are standing in front of it. Here water was collected and could be used when needed. To prevent you from falling into the pit, the cistern is surrounded by a fence.

No idea what the proper name of this well is. If you know it, put it into your log and I will change the name of this stage. Anyway, I think Thing-Brunnen is a nice and appropriate name. Almost always, when I visited this well it was only dripping. Its main function appears to be to look nice.

This stage is optional (detour ca. 800 m, 10-15 min). Here you will find information that allows you to validate your answers at the other stages. If you answer everything at the other stages correctly, you will also find the cache without visiting this stage.
In any case, the Heidenloch is always worth a visit. At an expedition into the well a layer of bricks was discovered, which originated from Roman times. More information about the well can be found at the information panels in the hut.

If you look towards the Thing-Brunnen take the right path to the Zollstockbrunnen. Of course there are also other possibilities.

Here you find a nice place for a pick nick including a wonderful view of the castle. The Zollstockbrunnen is close to the Schlossblick Hütte. You have the opportunity to grab a small tradi (Tolle Aussicht - Schlossblick Hütte GC1CGAQ).
However, you should focus on the well. Like the Bittersbrunnen the Zollstockbrunnen dates back to Celtic time and contributed to the water supply of the Celtic settlement. Nowadays both wells have only little water. In Celtic times they must have had much more water to supply the whole settlement. Scientists assume that acidic rain has made the clay layers porous and the water simply vanishes in the ground.

This is a very nice spring. Unfortunately the water is very acidic. In 2002-2003 the average pH-value was 4.3. For Alpine newts this is pretty deadly.
Close to the spring is some sort of natural seat or bench. How many large stones form it (include only the upper two layers)? L=

Here the water of the Einsiedlerquelle joins the Mühlbach. Immediately adjacent to the fortified banks of the creek is an old stone, which looks like a signpost.

Keep right and follow the Mühlbach upwards.

This is a romantic pond, where you can cross the Mühlbach. Here, often dogs enjoy a bath. How many steps connect the water with the trail, which is closest to the pond? P=
