Prairie Creek Preserve is a beautiful Alachua Conservation Trust Property with diverse ecosystems and miles of hiking trails named after conservationists and activists supporting preservation and restoration of natural areas in North Central Florida.
The trails can vary from dry to extremely wet depending on the amount of rainfall that the area has seen.
People can choose if they would like to hike the white/blue trail which is a bit shorter of a hike or if they would like to hike the white/yellow/orange trail which will go all the way out to the creek and is approximately 5-6 mile round trip. For those planning on the longer hike, please pack a lunch since we will not be returning to the parking area until the end of the hike. Hopefully the weather will be pleasant, but if there is a high chance of rain on the day of our event, we may have to make alternative plans.
Please bring water with you as there is nowhere to get water in the area as well as whatever other snacks you need, walking sticks, bug spray, etc.
