No response from cache owner.

While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time I don’t think we can do so any longer. Therefore, I have archived this cache. If you haven’t done so already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

When repairs to this cache are completed, and it is time to have it listed once again it will be no problem as long as it still meets the guidelines. Just drop me a note (by email at reviewer.mongo@gmail.com) and let me know the GC waypoint number of the cache or better yet, the URL of the cache page. You will still be able to access your cache page just as before by going to your “My Cache Page” and clicking the link of your cache.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and I am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future.

Geocache Description:

This is a large plastic camo container with lots of room for travel bugs and goodies for the kids.

Sylvan Springs Park is a great little park in South St. Louis County near Jefferson Barracks National cemetery.   Many people will drive right past it on the way to the cemetery, Jefferson Barracks military post, or JB Park and never even notice it.  However, recently the park has received some upgrades in the form of a skateboard park, and a small waterpark for children that will always be crowded by the locals on hot summer days.  My kids always love coming here to play in the summer and when they get tired of the water they can walk over to the playground right next to the water park. 
 
Also, just west of the Park off of Telegraph in Franview Plaza you can find the best snow cone stand in St. Louis, run by one of the most unique and crazy personalities in the entire area.  The Snow Cone lady and her husband are true American Patriots and do most of their work for the veterans at nearby Jefferson Barracks Hospital.   Just be sure you know how many and what size before you order.  A true treasure and St. Louis tradition for the locals.  

The Cache is located near the water park.  For stealth and ease, the best place to park is probably a small lot just south of the cache across from a maintenance building down from the tennis courts.  If you visit in the summer you will hear all the kids playing in the water  park and the wheels of the skateboards as the kids skate.

As always, please be respectful of park hours which are from sun up till half hour past sunset.

NOTICE: Please be respectful of the posted park hours. If you enter the park after hours you are trespassing. If you are stopped you can be ticketed or arrested and will put the future of geocaching in the parks in jeopardy. Special permission to hide caches in St. Louis County parks is NOT needed as long as the Groundspeak rules are followed. "Blanket Permission" has been worked out in advance with the park service. DO NOT CALL THE PARK as they cannot handle the calls. The Groundspeak cache reviewer does need to know exactly how and where the caches are hidden and what type of containers are used. The geocaching liaisons will notify the park service of new caches. Remember NO AMMO BOXES or PVC PIPE caches.
