These Cache & Dashes are nice easy stops to break up a long journey, giving you a chance to look at vistas and find hidden places missed when driving. You do not need to go near the road to get the cache. Remember all normal precautions need to be taken when stopping in a lay-by near a busy road! You are looking for a regular-sized clip&lock container, containing a logbook and pen.
Heading WEST on the A44 the lay-by is on the right, 1 mile from Llangurig. Heading EAST on the A44 the lay-by is on the left. Red Kites and Buzzards can be seen flying in this area. You are at the start of the Wye Valley. The River Wye runs very close to the A44 at this point before turning southwards as it passes Llangurig. The A44 crosses over the Wye 3.5 miles west of this lay-by, where the river has come down from it's source on the Pumlumon mountain range.
