We always hear about George Tweed, the Navy Radioman who evaded capture on Guam during the Japanese occupation and was a symbol of hope and courage as the people waited for Uncle Sam to return. But seldom do we hear about the Radiomen who were captured on December 10, 1941. Near GZ is a monument to these brave men and and their sacrifices. Also, near by is a monument to two U.S. Marines who were awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. So after you grab the cache walk over and read the plaques dedicated to a few of our heroes.
