Galena River Trail CITO Spring 2018
Sunday April 22, from Noon til 2 P.M.
The City of Galena has allowed caches to be placed along the River Trail. We can give back to the City by helping keep it clean.
Looks like this will be an annual event and you can earn the Souvenir.
There will be time during the CITO for stops at any caches you may not have already found. I will also be doing maintenance on caches.
We will meet at 11:45 am at the listed coordinates which is the trailhead. This will give time for caching before and after the event. We will probably finish before 2.
This year we will work on the East Segment of the trail and Buehler's Preserve. Last year we tried to do this section in the fall and were chased off by mosquitoes and could not complete the area. The bugs are not out in force in the spring. This segment is only about 1 mile includiing the loop in the preserve. So we will also clean the segment of trail going through Galena giving us a 3 mile round trip. If you can only do part of the trail, that is fine too.
No motorized vehicles are allowed on the trail.
Bring a pair of gloves and your favorite trash pick up TOTT.
