Questo luogo catartico è antichissima meta degli abitanti del posto. Si narra che vi si celebrassero degli antichi riti di tipo religioso, e l'atmosfera che ancora oggi si percepisce non sorprende affatto.
Oggi è un luogo di passaggio tra i sentieri che collegano il faro di Capo Testa, la spiaggetta Cala Francese e la famosa Valle della Luna. Vi si accede da tante vie diverse, io consiglio quella che comincia nei pressi del semaforo del faro di Capo Testa.
Si tratta di una passeggiata di circa un km, con saliscendi tra le rocce basse.
Durante il tragitto sarà facile incontrare branchi di capre selvatiche, innocue ma che non vanno infastidite, stanziate da tanti anni nella zona, e che spesso scelgono il Monolite come riparo (a seconda del vento). Altrettanto probabile sarà incrociare la strada con qualche cinghiale, molto diffusi tra i bassi arbusti, in particolare all'alba o al tramonto.
Questa zona non è sempre coperta dalle reti telefoniche, ed anche il GPS non è molto preciso; raccomando perciò prudenza e cautela. Per meglio supplire all'imprecisione delle coordinate allego la foto del nascondiglio da satellite.
Per questa cache valgono le solite raccomandazioni per i passaggi su granito e nuda roccia: evitate sempre di poggiare i piedi lì dove la superficie è bagnata o umida, il granito è estremamente scivoloso quando non è completamente asciutto.

This cathartic place is an ancient destination for the locals. It is said that ancient religious rites were celebrated there, and the atmosphere that is still perceived today is not surprising at all.
Today it is a place of passage between the paths that connect the Capo Testa lighthouse, the Cala Francese beach and the famous Valle della Luna. It is accessed by many different routes, I recommend the one that begins near the traffic light of the Capo Testa lighthouse.
It is a walk of about one km, with ups and downs among the low rocks.
During the journey it will be easy to meet herds of wild goats, harmless but not to be bothered, settled for many years in the area, and which often choose the Monolith as a shelter (depending on the wind). Equally likely it will be to cross the road with some wild boar, very common among the low shrubs, especially at dawn or dusk.
This area is not always covered by telephone networks, and even the GPS is not very accurate; I therefore recommend caution and caution. To better make up for the inaccuracy of the coordinates, I am attaching the photo of the satellite hiding place.
For this cache, the usual recommendations for steps on granite and bare rock apply: always avoid placing your feet where the surface is wet or damp, granite is extremely slippery when it is not completely dry.
