Come out and join the Geocachers of Georgia at one of the newest
Fayette County parks for our March 2008 meeting. The meeting will
be from 2-4 PM.
Our presentation will be on "Proactive involvement &
communication with law enforcement" and "Nonnative invasive species
of plants/animals in Georgia & what geocachers can do".
Come early and enjoy the amenities of Kenwood Park – tennis and basketball courts,
sand volleyball courts, a wooded nature trail, a playground,
and, of course, some great geocaches.
The nature trail takes you through a sampling of different
wildlife habitats including a lowland forest, wetland, pine stand,
mixed forest, riparian stream and an upland hardwood forest.
Wildlife sightings and evidence include deer, turkey, raccoon,
salamander, toads, frogs, barred owl, red-shouldered hawk,
red-tailed hawk, and many species of woodpeckers and song
birds.
