YOU MUST COMPLETE BOTH PART I AND PART II TO RECEIVE CREDIT FOR THIS GEOCACHE

NOTE: PART I is extremely beautiful and awesome. You can access it by stepping off the trail at N38 57.175 W120 06.715. Don't leave trail near signs that say, "Stay on trail". Tread lightly and make sure you bring your camera. You are in for a delight!

PART I: Go to N38 57.169 W120 06.654 This is a tupperware container with a log to sign and items to exchange. It also has the coordinates to PART II which are the same as those listed at the top of this page.

PART II: This half of the cache is a virtual cache. Either send to me, a photo of the cache area or tell me how far the cache location is from the trail and how many lakes you can see from the cache location. Please don't log your answers or photos that might reveal the answer for others.

LOGGING YOUR CACHE: Once you have completed this geoadventure, go ahead and submit your log.

Stop here and admire nature's beauty. This is a valley passage from Eagle Lake alongside Maggie's Peaks on the way to Upper, Middle, and Lower Velma Lakes. Off in the distance, between the V of the distance land formations, you can see a small portion of Lake Tahoe. Even if you are not going to Velma Lakes, come and see this place. Walk a little further up the path and take in even more of the beauty of "Beautiful Passage".

Parking: Along Highway #89, at Eagle Lake Trailhead. The trailhead is at the far end of the parking lot. Fill out the Wilderness Permit. It's for your protection and it's required by law.

Set Your Start Coordinates: Before you do anything else, record the coordinates of where you are starting from.

Geocaches on the way: As you start up the trail, don't miss TahoeCrew's "90 Foot Cache". Beleive me, it's worth the time.

As you approach within one tenth of a mile of Eagle Lake, you will see a fork to the left with a sign that shows the way to the Velma Lakes. Before you go that way, you may want to go the one tenth of mile to Eagle Lake and see what is so special about it. While there, you might as well geocache CzechCacher's Santa's Sleigh Crash Cache. Another good one!
