Come join us at Lake Crabtree County Park for a quick and simple after work event.
The Event: From 5:00 until about 6:00 pm I will have secured a picnic table and or a shelter. There will be a hot grill with some good ole southern red dogs burning and a really cheap bag of chips to share. (while they last) Look around and you might find a little mustard and ketchup as well. I will have some botled water on ice to wash things down with. Feel free to bring something to share if you wish but not by any means required. All are welcome! Please post your will attend so hopefully I don't run out of dogs. If you have any special dietary needs please bring them with you!
I hope to do this every month and being this one is very close to the time change activities will be limited after the event. Maybe use this first one to look around the park so that you are better prepared for the next one. However before long there will be plenty of time after the event to enjoy the park as summer gets into full swing.
Day of event: Omaha!!! Omaha!!! Be prepared for an audible that may change the coords slightly to a shelter or a different table. The facilities are first come, first serve and if the first choice table is taken or rain is evident I will call the audible and repost the new coords as a log entry. The shelters can be reserved but then I would have to shell out the bucks for it and I had rather save the $$$ for a better bag of chips.
The Park: Lake Crabtree County Park is a beautiful park that offers many great options on how to enjoy the outdoors. it has almost everything for outdoor fun. It has many hiking trails, mountain biking trails, open space areas, fishing pier, and a non gas only boat launch. It is also geocaching friendly via a request to place form.
I would suggest that you visit their website for additional information on what they have available for you and any fees or permits that may apply for the activities. More on this later.
So brush the dust of of those hiking boots, the ole bike, or your kayak and don't forget to reline that fishing pole! We hope to see you all there at some point between now and fall!
