Busso Jetty Journey Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

Balayang: I am regretfully archiving this cache since unfortunately there has been no action to restore it, or any communication from the cache owner, Princess_Leia, requesting additional time.

An ample opportunity has been provided for the Cache Owner to respond, but since this opportunity has been ignored, I can only conclude that the cache has been abandoned.

Caches archived under these circumstances are unable to be Unarchived, and this location is now available for the placement of a new cache, by somebody else.

Geocache Description:

Take a long walk down a long jetty! It's a 2-point hunt. At the first point, you'll search for a 3 digit number "XYZ" engraved in the jetty, to enable you to calculate final geocache co-ordinates, (magnetic case), hidden at S: 33°38.Z81/ E: 115°20.YX0. At waypoint 1, you'll be at the horizontal spikes of the security gate to the observatory, at the jetty edge. At the final, ensure the container is replaced as you found it, protected from muggles, wind & waves!

There is an underwater observatory at the end of the jetty which is open during daylight hours. You will see a variety of corals and marine species. There is a train that can take you out there if you plan not to walk, however, the FINAL waypoint requires a short walk from the start of the train line. The end of this jetty is also an amazing place for a SCUBA dive. It is only 6 metres deep so great for beginners or experienced divers

Busso jetty is the longest jetty in the southern hemisphere, and you will first need to walk almost 2kms out on the jetty to find the first clue. The jetty began construction in 1853, but was re-constructed in 2009, hence this cache was disabled for a long time, and has been replaced several times.

Please note that during business hours there is a small fee of $4 to walk out on the jetty. It is free outside of these hours. For more details of hours, fees and services, please see https://www.busseltonjetty.com.au/general-info/admission/. You will need your own pencil or pen, i'm also happy to take photos of the cache as "found" evidence if people dont have a pencil or pen with them

I have enabled this as a public geocache for 2020, recognizing that travels are currently limited under COVID-19 restrictions, and more hunts maybe required for the geocaching community. Previously it was "premium members only". Enjoy :)
