Car Hop restaurants were established in various cities in the United States after World War II. Our local establishments were formed by Eb Bost and C.W. Bost, Jr. of Concord. These restaurants where known for burgers that are larger than those offered at typical fast-food restaurants of today. They offered a limited menu compared to today's larger chain fast food restaurants and the food was typically cooked to order. I have fond memories of Cherry Lemon Sundrops and Witch Doctors.
There are several locations still operating in Kannapolis and Concord under the leadership of members of the Bost family.
