This cache has been archived.

Snuva: I cannot get my local maintainer to respond, so I'm archiving this. I'll try to get someone else there to check if there are any remains.

Geocache Description:

Help! Tasmanian Devils are currently facing an epidemic of a facial tumour desease. The existence of the species is under threat, so scientists have come up with an 'ark' strategy to save them. This involves capturing young devils and relocating them to areas that are hopefully uncontaminated. Unfortunately, these 11 devils just want to get home!

Well, the health threat is real, but these 11 devils are actually Travel Bugs participating in a bug race. This cache has been placed as a release cache for bug race participants, but ALSO as a thank you to all the bay area cachers who have made this Tasmanian Devil's short visit to the area wonderful.

We have 11 contestants in the Tassie Bug Race:

Cached's TwoHeads
Malbena's Devilish Racer
Waterwells's Tassie LadyBug
Snuva's Boomerang Bug
aloysius's Herbie the Racing Bug
robtas's DEVIL IN TROUBLE
energizer's ORR (Off road Racer)
CraigRat's Princess Laura
CraigRat's Princess Cindy
Team Tiges's Theophilus Thylacine
imafish's The Imafish Troll!

The original contents of this cache are Tasmanian/ Australian themed. I imagine Californians won't be able to keep this up, so I'll just note that the original contents are: chidren's books (Little Devils, Wombat's Secret, Wombat's Friend, and Bilby's Burrow), a Tasmanian Devil puzzle, a koala puzzle made of Tasmanian hardwood, 2 wombats, 2 echidnas (love those monotremes!), a roo, a koala, a lorrikeet, a platypus, a croc, and 2 rubber bouncing balls - one with a tree frog and one with a snake (it wouldn't be a Tasmanian cache without at least one bouncy ball!).

From SOME directions, the most difficult thing about finding this cache will be finding the correct route; follow your brain rather than the GPSr. There's plenty to do near by - both cache-wise as well as muggle sport - biking, kayaking in puddles, walking of dogs, etc. Check out bykenut's bookmark for other caches along the nearby trail. Hope you enjoy this cache!
