Fergus found this area one day while working. Seeing the sign next
to the river, I was expecting a well-defined trail leading along
the bank, where fishermen had tromped in and out to get to their
favorite spots. Instead, there is a vague network of "trails" where
others have walked, ridden, driven, and grazed before. Follow the
riverbank, though, and you'll get there eventually. The terrain is
level, though being low-lying and next to a river, it may get
marshy if the creek runs high. Vegetation varies; although is is
generally pretty open "sticks-and-twigs" type stuff, there are some
clumps of greenbriar that you will want to watch out for. Part of
the difficulty on this one comes from trying to find your way to
the area. Be prepared to drive some country roads.
The cache itself is a plastic storage container with a white
lid, placed maybe 20 to 30 feet from the main trail -- at least we
_think_ it was the main trail... We took plenty of averaged
readings, so hopefully it will be easy to find. If anyone has
trouble with this one, let us know.
Parking is available near the sign, at:

(As far as we can tell, this is a dog-friendly area.)
