Viewpoint Park is fairly small and usually quiet. Kids will enjoy
the playground and basketball court.
We're not really sure what the view in viewpoint is -- houses?
trees? Perhaps in years past, when the trees were shorter and the
space was more open, there was a mountain vista. However, we
haven't seen one yet. If you're there on a day with a view, please
describe it or post a photo!
The cache is in an 30 cal. ammo box, hidden only a few feet off
an uphill trail. This cache is often hit by newcomers to
geocaching, so let me offer two pieces of advice: (1) don't be
afraid to look beneath leaves and fallen branches, and (2) keep
your eye out for parallel sticks and unnatural piles of leaves.
Oct. 2, 2006 Update: After reading a story in
a local newspaper, we finally discovered the reason for the name of
the park. This area is known as the "Viewpoint Neighborhood."
