Geocache Description:

This is part of the Sandhills Region Challenge Series. Find 13 geocaches hidden in the 14 Sandhills Region State Parks. Decipher the clues and find the final cache- Sandhills Region Challenge Final. First 10 finders get a coupon for a free boat rental with a two night stay in either the cabins or the campground.

The cache you are looking for is a ammo can hidden in typical geocache style. There are several other caches hidden at Barnwell as well.

There’s also a nature trail that winds around a pair of nice-sized ponds that many locals know hold a good population of bream and bass, some of them surprisingly large.

Barnwell State Park is one of 16 state parks in South Carolina built by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Great Depression to provide jobs for the men who built them and recreational opportunities for the people who live nearby.
