Geocache Description:

LIGHTS, SIGHTS, AND FRIGHTS

The geocaching party you are scared to attend!

A camera was left behind at the event. Please e-mail me privately with the color and brand of the camera to claim it.

Location

The event will be held in Lewis Young Park in Louisburg, KS.

Time

The event will start at 7:00 PM. End time is still to be determined, but is planned for 10:00 PM

The Lights:

Three permanent night caches will be set up for this event in the nearby woods. Each night cache will be of different design. The caches will be of Halloween theme during the event, and only during the event, with varying levels of fright.

The Sights:

Nearby Powell Observatory has been reserved for the night of the event. Observatory staff will be on hand to give you a tour of the night sky before, during, and after the event. Take some time to enjoy the wonderful sights of the night sky.

The Frights:

Besides the Halloween theme of the night caches, several traditional caches are planned that will also be Halloween themed. And for those of you who like to dress up, a costume contest will take place. Come to the event dressed up to take part in the contest. All attendees of the event are eligible to vote. Prizes will be awarded to winners of the costume contest. There will be a kids (17 and under) category and an adult (18 and over) category, with prizes for each. There are no planned themes and voting will be open to anyone in attendance.

Volunteers:

If you think you might be interested in helping with the event, let me know. Volunteers can help with various aspects, including design and placement of the traditional caches (since I will have the three night caches under my account, I can help maintain them for you if you don't live close by but want to help with this), assisting the costume contest, photography, treat bags, and clean up. Want to help with decorations? E-mail me if you have something you think might be useful and we'll see if it can be used. If you are interested in helping with the event, please say so in your "Will Attend" log and I'll contact you.

On either Saturday, October 24th, I will be heading to the event site to plan the final locations for event caches (to be placed the morning of the event). I am looking for a few people who would like to assist me with this process. If you are interested, please contact me privately so that we can plan for that day. I realize there might be an event going on that day. if you are interested and Sunday would work better, I'm willing to plan for that day too.
